Commander's Edition Cards
with Functional Changes

Cards that functionally changed in the BattleTech: Commander's Edition card set are listed on page 44 of the Commander's Edition rulebook. Note that Heroic Sacrifice is functionally the same as the original version and not included on this list. The card Reactor Breach, which was accidentally omitted from the rulebook list, has been added here.

Aerospace Fighter Mission
The original card had a base cost of 6. The Commander's Edition version has a base cost of 4.

Communications Failure
The original card's effect removed all static counters in play with a single die roll. A single die roll with the Commander's Edition version removes only the static counters on a single Unit.

Difficult Terrain
The Commander's Edition version of Difficult Terrain has the keyword "terrain" and follows the rules for terrain cards.

Disguised Coordinates
The original card's effect allowed you to "redirect an attack to any site you control other than the scrapheap." The Commander's Edition version allows you to "choose any site that is a legal target for that attack and redirect it to that site." This prevents attacks from being directed to sites that cannot be attacked.

First Circuit Summons
The original version allowed Unit cards to be retrieved; the Commander's Edition version does not.

Inside Job
The original card's effect had you reveal Inside Job during the deploy phase and a chosen Unit would be unblockable for the rest of the turn provided it attacked alone. The Commander's Edition Inside Job card is revealed when a chosen Unit attacks alone and it is unblockable for that mission only.

Pryde's Pride
The original card's effect had you roll a die to see if the effect worked. The Commander's Edition version works automatically with no die roll.

Reactor Breach
The original card's effect had you scrap the Unit and assign the damage when the card was played. The Commander's Edition version has you scrap the Unit and assign the damage only if that Unit is still in the battle when damage is resolved.

Sacrifice for the Dragon
The original card's effect had the Unit get +2 attack and receive 1 damage on a roll of 3 - 5, and get +6 attack and receive 2 damage on a roll of a 6. The Commander's Edition version has the Unit deal +(3 - 6) damage and receive 2 damage on a roll of 3 - 6. Both versions have no effect other than to draw a card after the mission on a roll of 1 - 2.

Single Combat
The original card's effect did not count the battle as a mission. The Commander's Edition version counts the battle as a mission where no mission cards can be played. This allows Unit and Command card abilities that are playable during missions to be played while resolving the Commander's Edition Single Combat effect. Both versions allow tapped 'Mechs to be chosen.

Strafing Run
The original card had a base cost of 5. The Commander's Edition version has a base cost of 4.

Sun-Tzu Liao
The original card only allowed subterfuge cards to be retrieved from the top of the Stockpile. The Commander's Edition version allows subterfuge cards to be retrieved from anywhere in the Stockpile.

Teachings of the Unfinished Book
The Commander's Edition version provides an additional deployment when deployed and revealed, and allows the controller to draw a card when it is activated.
